Since the early 1970s, we have been dedicated to serving the Memphis/Germantown area. Our professional and courteous staff at Germantown Farmington Animal Hospital is committed to delivering the highest standard of medical, surgical, and dental care to our esteemed patients.


We are deeply committed to promoting responsible pet ownership, advocating for preventative healthcare, and offering health-related educational opportunities to our clients. Proudly involved in our community, we consider it a privilege to support the Shelby County K9 Unit by providing essential care for the canines dedicated to our safety. Moreover, in Germantown, we extend our services to care for the lost and found animals at the Germantown Animal Shelter, addressing their medical and surgical needs with compassion.

Dr. Shellie Antey, DVM

Dr. Shellie Antey, the owner of Germantown Farmington Animal Hospital, shares her life with 7 dogs and 3 cats. Graduating from Purdue University with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2000, she actively engages in professional associations including the Memphis/Shelby County Veterinary Medical Association, AVMA, TVMA, AAFP, and holds certification in animal aromatherapy. Beyond her role as a wife and mother of 3, Dr. Antey has been a dedicated St. Jude Hero, running & fundraising for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital since 2010.


Her canine companions include Molly, Bingo, Jake, Mabel, Taz, Millie, and Hazel, while her feline friends are Alex, Bono, and Larry.

Dr. Karen Gant, DVM

Dr. Karen Gant earned her degree from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. She holds memberships in AVMA, AAFP, MSCVMA, TVMA and is a certified feline-friendly veterinarian, and possesses certification in animal aromatherapy. In addition to her professional commitments, she has served as a past board member of The Carl Perkins Center for the prevention of child abuse and volunteered with Fayette Cares, a center for domestic violence. Dr. Gant shares her home with 4 cats, 3 dogs, and 2 wonderful sons.


Her canine companions include Petey, Bear, and Roscoe, while her feline friends are Jade, Shadow, Boogie-Woogie, and Roobee.


Cindy, Practice Manager

Cindy has served as the office manager at Germantown Farmington Animal Hospital since 2002. An enthusiastic animal lover, she actively participates in the Memphis/Shelby County Veterinary Medical Association.


Her canine companions include Gilbert, Buster, Joe, and King Tut.

Amanda

Amanda, LVMT

Amanda has been a valued team member at Germantown Farmington Animal Hospital since 2004. She obtained her BA from the University of Memphis in 2010 and later completed her LVMT degree from San Juan Community College in 2016. Amanda is a member of the Memphis/Shelby County Veterinary Medical Association (MSCVMA) and the Tennessee Veterinary Technicians Association (TVTA). Apart from her dedication to veterinary medicine, Amanda enjoys indulging in crafts, cherishing her love for cats, and above all, adoring her beautiful daughter.


Her feline companions include Chancey, Mischief, Snoopy, Piglet, Big Momma, Zelda, and Poppy.


Meaghan, LVMT

Meaghan graduated from the Bel-Rea Institute of Veterinary Technology in 2014 and has been an integral part of the Germantown Farmington Animal Hospital team since August 2016. Meagan is a member of the Memphis/Shelby County Veterinary Medical Association (MSCVMA) and the Tennessee Veterinary Technicians Association (TVTA). Recognized as the resident cat expert, she extends her passion by fostering multiple kittens from the Germantown Animal Shelter. Meaghan's artistic talents shine throughout our clinic, evident in the captivating murals she painted for us.


In addition to her contributions, Meaghan shares her life with two dogs, Fionnlagh and Bowie, along with her cherished feline companions The Splendid Angharad and Lieutenant Ellen Ripley, as well as a Bearded Dragon named Eliza Thornbeardie.

Sarah, LVMT

Sarah has immersed herself in the animal field since the age of 15, dedicating the past 7 years to her role here at Germantown Farmington Animal Hospital. Although recognized as one of our Licensed Veterinary Technicians, she is often found tending to duties at the front desk. At home, Sarah juggles the care of her three Labradors, her two children, and her husband.


Her canine companions include Cali, Harper, and J.


Molly, Veterinary Assistant

Molly has been a part of the Germantown Farmington Animal Hospital team since 2015, contributing her skills across various departments, keeping her constantly on the move. Graduating with a BA in Biology and Chemistry from the University of Memphis in 2021, she has a passion for fitness and caring for animals.


In the fall of 2023, Molly has embarked on a new journey as she enters the University of Memphis Nursing program.


Her furry companions include Lana, Chevy, and Wilson, along with her cat, Reysin (Rey).

Hope

Hope, Veterinary Assistant

Hope has been dedicated to veterinary medicine since 2020, pursuing a degree as a Licensed Veterinary Technician at Penn Foster College. In her leisure time, she enjoys reading and spending playful moments with our clinic cat, Frank. Adding to her bustling life, her new puppy Dutton keeps her active and engaged.


Her furry companions include Dutton, her lively puppy, and Shadow, her feline friend.


Naja has been immersed in veterinary medicine for the past 2 years. Her ultimate aspiration is to attend Veterinarian School with the aim of specializing in large animals, a field she's always been passionate about, particularly horses. In her free time, Naja enjoys traveling and discovering new places. She also cherishes her role as a parent to her child, Otis, a Pom-Chi (Pomeranian/Chihuahua) mix.

Brandi

Brandi, Veterinary Assistant, Fear-Free Certified

Brandi is a seasoned professional in the field of veterinary medicine, boasting over 18 years of experience. Her expertise lies in working with geriatric animals, and she excels particularly in blood draws. Brandi is Fear-Free Certified, helping our patients feel more comfortable during their visit.


Her canine companions include Meeko and Bronx.


Shania, Veterinary Assistant

Shania has dedicated three years to working in an animal hospital. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Bioscience in 2022. Shania is hoping to further her education by attending veterinary school. Outside of her professional pursuits, Shania enjoys indulging in painting and drawing.


Her beloved canine companions are Coco and Bunzy.

Frank, Clinic Therapy Cat

Frank has been an integral part of our team since 2017. He delights in playing with toys and warmly greeting everyone who enters our doors. If you're having a rough day, rest assured, Frank will be there to lift your spirits. You can usually find him lounging around or perched atop the cat tower.

Macho, Clinic Cat

Macho became a part of our team in 2017. He has a fondness for food, particularly popcorn, and enjoys spending his days assisting in the treatment area, sometimes getting in the way of the receptionists. Macho is a huge love bug, always available for head scratches to any willing participant.
